The Centers for Disease Control estimates eighty-eight percent of those over 65 years of age have at least one chronic health condition. Many chronic diseases like heart disease and diabetes can be related to poor lifestyle habits. A change that can improve health is an improved diet.

 
     

Healthy diet choices like increasing the intake of fruits and vegetables that contain antioxidants may help some chronic diseases. Antioxidants are certain vitamins that can help protect against free radicals produced in the body. Free radicals can damage cells, resulting in disease and accelerated aging.

Selenium


Helps maintain healthy hair and nails, enhances immunity, works with vitamin E to protect cells from damage. Reduces the risk of cancer, particularly lung, prostate, and colorectal. Beta-Carotene
